Palantir - Woodland's Eyes

This began as a reworking of one of my older snowflake parameter files which provided Holiday-Snowflake. [link] Then, the Final Transform was used to form the "palantir" shape of the image. It is another in a series of fractals using the "Snowflake" script [link] and used the Apophysis 2.05Z+ [link] for its creation. This was followed by a bit of playing with the triangles to come up with this snowflake shape. I applied the script to the random batch of flames which used the disc variation. This gradient reminds me of the crystal growths that one can achive using the salt, household ammonia, and bluing mixture poured over a chunk of coal or blotting paper cut in irregular shapes.
A little tweaking of the transforms added more symmetry to the resulting flake. The PNG transparency was layered over the colored background and darker gradient in Photoshop and a signature added.
I especially like the kaleidoscope look of the fractals using this script.
